Clinical Internship deals with an intensive practical and theoretical training in the different sections in the clinical laboratory namely, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology (Blood Banking), Immunology, Serology, Microbiology, Urinalysis and Other Body Fluids (Clinical Microscopy), Parasitology, Histopathology / Cytology and other emergent technologies. It also emphasizes the development of a proper value system.
The base hospital where students are deployed primarily for their clinical placements is the Divine Word Hospital located in Tacloban City. The Divine Word Hospital is a DOH-accredited tertiary health care facility and managed by the Benedictine Sisters in the Philippines (Appendix A, Article V of CMO no. 13 s. 2017).
