VISION
A Christ-centered Benedictine ministry that focuses on the spiritual upliftment towards a reflective and participative St. Scholastica's College community.
MISSION
True to the Catholic Benedictine identity and mission, the Campus Ministry Office preserves and promotes the spiritual growth of the whole St. Scholastica's College community through meaningful liturgical celebrations and other oriented endeavors.
Goals and Objectives
- To preserve and promote the Catholic Benedictine identity and spirituality of the College.
- To plan, implement and evaluate liturgical, formation and related activities.
- To coordinate with various departments and offices in the campus concerning liturgical, religious formation, apostolate and other spiritual activities.
- To coordinate with the Archdiocese, parishes and other ecclesiastical authorities with regard to liturgical, formation and service involvement of the College.
- To partner with the Christian Living Education Department and the Office of the Community Extension Services in promoting activities with regard to formation and service or the apostolate aspect of the Campus Ministry Office.
- To play an advocacy role in matters concerning justice and morals.
- To promote Marian devotions and other Catholic practices among the St. Scholastica's College community members.
The Campus Ministry program aims to enflesh and deepen the content gain from Religious Education classes through meaningful liturgical celebrations, the sacraments, retreats and recollections. A chapel is provided for quiet prayer and meditation.
CAMPUS MINISTRY OFFICE
The Office of Campus Ministry, located at the ground floor of the main school building, serves students of all faith backgrounds and supports the spiritual life of the entire SSCT campus community. Guided by the Benedictine Sisters and grounded in the Catholic intellectual tradition, the Campus Ministry provides opportunities for prayer, dialogue, reflection, and service in an effort to foster the integration of students’ spiritual, personal, and academic development. Campus Ministry forms the faith community through liturgies and Sacraments, prayer and retreats, small groups, service experiences, social justice education, and ecumenical and interreligious dialogue. Staff members are available for one-time or ongoing pastoral conversations and spiritual direction.
